How reports are handled
This is a translation for your convenience. The German version of this page is the binding one.
This page describes what happens to a report. It describes the actual procedure, not an intention.
1. How you report
Every profile, entry, concert and photo has a Report button. You pick a reason and can describe what is going on. You need to be signed in so that we can reply to you.
If something cannot go through the button, write to [email protected]. A report by email counts just the same.
2. Confirmation of receipt
You get a confirmation by email without delay saying your report arrived. That is not a decision, only the receipt.
3. Who decides
MoshMate is run by one person. That person looks at every report themselves. There is no automated decision-making: no filter, no model and no process removes content by itself.
Because only people decide here, it sometimes takes a few days. Reports that suggest serious danger go first.
4. What can happen
Either the reported content is removed or restricted, or the report is dismissed because there is no breach. There is nothing in between, and there is no hierarchy among users: nobody can remove anybody from anything, and blocking works only between two people.
5. Reasons
Every decision is given reasons, and the reasons are mandatory in the system: a report cannot be closed without them. You receive them as a statement of reasons under Art. 17 DSA, together with what the decision rests on.
6. If you disagree
Reply to the statement of reasons, or write to [email protected]. The decision is then looked at again, by a person again.
There is no formal internal complaint-handling system under Art. 20 DSA. That obligation does not apply to micro enterprises under Art. 19 DSA, and MoshMate is one. The obligations under Art. 16 and Art. 17, that is reporting, confirmation and reasons, apply regardless and are met.
Independently of that, out-of-court dispute settlement bodies and the courts remain open to you.
7. Abuse
Reporting is free and is never restricted. Anybody sending a great many reports in a short time does run into a brake: more than ten reports an hour are not accepted. That protects the handling of the reports that are about something serious.
